About Us
Why we exist
Traditional health screenings often miss early indications of metabolic dysfunction, resulting in most individuals receiving a diagnosis only once chronic diseases have developed. As reported by the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, 93% of Americans struggle with poor metabolic health, a fundamental contributor to issues such as Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and strokes.
❋ Hormones
Metabolic imbalances can disrupt hormonal regulation, including cortisol and insulin signaling. Chronically elevated cortisol from prolonged stress can worsen blood sugar control and promote fat storage, creating a cycle that further impairs metabolic health. These hormonal disruptions not only affect physical health but also influence sleep, appetite regulation, and emotional stability.
❋ Mitochondial Effects
Another major effect of metabolic dysfunction is impaired energy production at the cellular level. When mitochondria do not function efficiently, the body and brain struggle to produce adequate energy. This can contribute to symptoms such as brain fog, low motivation, poor concentration, and chronic exhaustion, which are frequently seen in both metabolic disorders and mood disorders.
❋ Mental Health
Metabolic dysfunction can significantly affect mental health, particularly in conditions such as depression. Chronic low-grade inflammation and insulin resistance—both common in metabolic syndrome—have been linked to disruptions in neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine, which regulate mood. This biological overlap helps explain why individuals with obesity or type 2 diabetes experience higher rates of depression and persistent fatigue.
❋ Heart Disease
Metabolic dysfunction also increases the risk of cardiovascular disease. Elevated blood sugar, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, and increased abdominal fat contribute to atherosclerosis and hypertension. Over time, these changes raise the likelihood of heart attack, stroke, and other serious vascular complications.
Our approach
Testing is often the missing link between temporary weight loss and truly correcting underlying metabolic dysfunction. Without objective data, many individuals rely on generalized plans that may produce short-term results but fail to address underlying metabolic needs. Our goal is to make advanced testing accessible to those who need it most, giving people the insight required to make informed, lasting changes. Etho’s approach delivers functional health assessments paired with practical, personalized plans, offering a much-needed solution to a widespread gap in preventive and performance-based healthcare.

The Founder
After spending 10 years at Lifetime where I lead the Metabolics department, I saw a consistent pattern: people were working hard, yet many were stuck in cycles of short-term progress followed by frustration. What often made the difference wasn’t more effort - it was deeper insight into what was happening beneath the surface. When individuals were able to understand their metabolism, hormones, and energy systems, their progress became more sustainable and far less reliant on trial and error.
That experience inspired me to start my own practice with a more personal mission. I wanted to bring comprehensive metabolic insight and individualized guidance to people outside the confines of a single gym setting. My focus is on helping clients uncover and address underlying metabolic dysfunction, rebuild energy, and create lasting improvements in body composition and overall health. This work is about more than numbers on a scale - it’s about restoring confidence, preventing chronic disease, and equipping people with the clarity and support they need to lead healthier, fuller lives.
